Bartonella-positive DNA was detected in 14.9% (169/1,137) of rodents by PCR for both the ssrA and gltA genes. A highest Bartonella prevalence was detected in Apodemus agrarius (33.5%) and lowest in B. indica (1.8%). Sequencing and phylogenetic analysis revealed that nine known Bartonella species were identified in rodents, including B. tribocorum, B. grahamii, B. rattimassiliensis, B. queenslandensis, B. elizabethae, B. phoceensis, B. coopersplainsensis, B. japonica and B. rochalimae. In our study, Bartonella species exhibited a strong association with their hosts. Zoonotic B. tribocorum, B. grahamii, B. elizabethae and B. rochalimae were found in synanthropic rodent species in southeastern China, which pose a potential threat to the public health. Additionally, internal consistency and test-retest reliability, and concurrent, convergent, and divergent validity were assessed in typical adolescents. However, there are few reports of listeriosis associated with L. innocua, which is genetically closely related to L. monocytogenes, but considered non-pathogenic. In this work, we report two cases of suppurative meningoencephalitis in apparently previously healthy ruminants from different farms, in which two strains of L. innocua were recovered. The whole genomes from both isolates were sequenced, allowing phylogenetic analyses to be performed, which indicated that the two strains were very closely related. Virulence determinants were searched, especially genes coding for the main L. monocytogenes virulence factors which have been previously described in L. innocua. Surprisingly, the two isolates do not possess such virulence determinants. Instead, both strains carried a set of genes that encode for other virulence factors of the genus Listeria detected using the Virulence Factor Database (VFDB) iap (division and invasion of host cells), lpeA (entry into non-professional phagocytes cells), fbpA (multifunctional virulence factor, including adherence to host cells), lspA (surface protein anchoring), lap (adhesion to enterocytes and trans epithelial translocation), pdgA (resistance to lysozyme), oatA (resistance to different antimicrobial compounds and also required for growth inside macrophages), lplA1 (use of host-metabolites for in vivo growth), gtcA (catalyses teichoic acid of bacterial wall), prsA2 (cell invasion, vacuole lysis and intracellular growth), clpC, clpE and clpP (survival under several stress conditions). These genes among others detected, could be involved in the ability of L. innocua to produce damage in animal and human hosts. At the same time as precarious forms of social relations have proliferated, self-help books have become tremendously popular. This article examines five best-selling self-help books in Mexico - two promoting mental wellness, one providing financial advice, one about romantic relationships, and one sharing inspirational lessons regarding success - to explore how self-help texts reflect the cultural logic of precariousness. While encouraging readers to overcome challenges, think positively, and transform bad habits into good ones, the texts present visions of human agency free from social constraint. Self-help books in Mexico reproduce a cultural logic that corresponds to material realities of precariousness in work and family life. This logic helps account for the expanding popularity of the genre and encourages a marginalization of the sociological imagination in popular culture - a marginalization that sociologists should contest through greater public engagement.<br />There may be clinically relevant differences between results of different FIX assays in samples containing extended half life FIX concentrates requiring regular surveillance of assay results through proficiency testing exercises. Control materials used in proficiency testing must be commutable, that is have the same inter-assay properties as those demonstrated by authentic clinical samples when measured by different analytical methods.<br />We assessed relationships between results with different FIX assays and commutability of UK National External Quality Assessment Scheme (NEQAS) materials containing rIX-FP (Idelvion) or rFIXFc (Alprolix) by comparing results obtained using widely used one-stage and chromogenic assays during a proficiency testing exercise with results obtained when analysing a series of individual patient samples using the same assay systems. NEQAS samples prepared by addition of either Idelvion or Alprolix to FIX deficient plasma were sent to 76haemophilia centres in Europe. A total of 18 Idelvion and 22 Alprolix patient samples were assayed in a single centre. Attitudes about telemedicine (i.e., telemedicine acceptability), evaluated using the validated Telemedicine Perception Questionnaire (TMPQ), and visit satisfaction were assessed for different telemedicine experiences and types of autoimmune rheumatic disease.<br />Of 3,369 invitations, 819 responses were received. Participants had a mean ± SD age of 58.6 ± 11.6 years and were mostly White (n = 759, or 92.7%) and female (n = 702, or 85.7%). Of the 618 participants who said that telemedicine was available to them, 449 (72.7%) reported having a telemedicine visit, with 303 (67.5%) reporting attending a telemedicine video visit. HS caused intestinal dysfunction and disrupted the gut microbiota. However, the researches about the effects of HS on ileal microbiome of indigenous broilers are limited. Therefore, this experiment used 16S rRNA sequencing to analyse the ileal microbial community in indigenous yellow-feather broilers under HS.<br />The single factor completely random design was used in the present study, and forty 8-week-old Chinese indigenous yellow-feather broilers (Huaixiang chickens) were randomly divided into two treatments normal temperature (NT) group and HS group. There are five replications with four broilers per replicate in each group. The broilers in NT group were raised at 21.3 ± 1.2°C during the whole experimental period, the broilers in HS group were exposed to 32.5 ± 1.4°C for 8 h/day from 900 am to 1700 pm and the temperature of rest time is consistent with NT group.
