Infants dishabituated significantly more often if an animate target had been removed from the scene. Dishabituation results suggested that infants, like adults, preferentially attend to animate rather than to inanimate objects.The study objective was to explore the experiences of parents of children (6-17 years) with complex mental healthcare needs in accessing healthcare services in Alberta, Canada. Parents were interviewed using a semi-structured guide with open-ended and probing questions. Interviews were audio recorded and transcribed verbatim. (2) Navigating the complex healthcare system was difficult due to fragmented services and was hindered by gaps in accessing and receiving care, lack of continuity of care and lack of resources. (3) Distressed parents discussed the emotional challenges, financial burdens, self-advocacy and stigma they experienced in navigating the system. Parents offered insights into potential solutions to these gaps. Parents recommended the creation of a one-stop shop service with a team approach led by a navigator to facilitate and support navigations across healthcare services that work collaboratively across disciplines among healthcare services and across sectors inclusive of social services, education, policing and community programmes.<br />Camouflaging can be thought of as the process through which autistic people modify their natural social behaviours to adapt to, cope within or influence the largely neurotypical (non-autistic) social world. Many autistic people experience negative reactions to their natural or intuitive social behaviours when interacting with non-autistic people. Few studies have explored their combined mental health effects on young people. While self-focused rumination has been suggested to be a key mechanism underlying depression, the role of event-based rumination in mediating the impact of population stressors has yet to be elucidated.<br />Data were collected from 6988 young people in a large-scale community online survey in Hong Kong. The survey assessed symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, direct exposure to social unrest-related traumatic events, coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic-related events, personal stressful life events, event-based rumination and other individual risk factors.<br />High levels of comorbid post-traumatic stress disorder and depressive symptoms were observed.
