Why Nobody Cares About Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.
Players can recycle six items at a time to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.
There are item upgrading that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available all over the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.
There are several types of upgrade components in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, can be placed on any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools and offer a variety of bonuses, from increasing the speed of the item's collection to providing extra crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen, showing the expected stats after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.
The upper-right corner displays the amount of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The price of an upgrade increases with the level and rarity of the item increases. However, you can reduce this cost by purchasing upgrades from a seller or trading them with other players.
The majority of weapons can be upgraded by adding a prefix, such as a rune, or an insignia, and others can be upgraded with a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item to add an adjective, such as 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor.' The exceptions are the noninscribable wands, foci and shields from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods at all.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, which makes them more effective in communicating a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of the message by triggering an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain amount. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the actual amount by which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the item that you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you want to remove a glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it with an Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.
When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is beneficial for those who take lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in various ways, including in mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives players a new random affix that is usually superior to the one they had before. Reroll tokens can be used to boost the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is by the item's rarity and also its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than those with lower levels.
In addition to tokens for rerolls, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeated up to three times.
Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it can reduce the overall ilvl the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to raise it to its final ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on rings and Diadems, as they have no other options to raise the ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to let people pay for it with cash or food items, which will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers are planning to implement at this time in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an option to change the race in the future.
Leveling
There are a number of ways to boost the value of an item upgrade. The first is to increase the upgrade amount, which increases the value of an upgrade for a given stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which increases the healing or damage for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When upgrading your items it is essential to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases the best roll will result from glyphs, however there are also chances for higher or more special rolls. The type of item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, it is likely to receiving an upper level.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to legendary. The price will depend on the item's iLevel base and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will reach the highest level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. Generally speaking the effect of upgrading is increased by a number of +3.
Depending on the item's base level and its upgrade path, the iLevel of the upgraded item will also change. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an outstanding one can be expected to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
