Therefore, both the control and reduction of CO2 emissions have become environmental issues of major concern and big challenges for the international scientific community. Among the proposed strategies to achieve these goals, conversion of CO2 by its reduction into high added value products, such as methane or syngas, has been widely agreed to be the most attractive from the environmental and economic points of view. In the present work, thermocatalytic reduction of CO2 with H2 was studied over a nanostructured ceria-supported nickel catalyst. Ceria nanocubes were employed as support, while the nickel phase was supported by means a surfactant-free controlled chemical precipitation method. The resulting nanocatalyst was characterized in terms of its physicochemical properties, with special attention paid to both surface basicity and reducibility. The nanocatalyst was studied during CO2 reduction by means of Near Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (NAP-XPS). Two different catalytic behaviors were observed depending on the reaction temperature. At low temperature, with both Ce and Ni in an oxidized state, CH4 formation was observed, whereas at high temperature above 500 °C, the reverse water gas shift reaction became dominant, with CO and H2O being the main products. NAP-XPS was revealed as a powerful tool to study the behavior of this nanostructured catalyst under reaction conditions.Personnel of the Danish Armed Forces must complete a yearly basic physical fitness test consisting of a Cooper's 12-min run test (CRT) and four strength-related bodyweight exercises. However, there is no validated alternative to the CRT allowing injured or sailing personnel to conduct the yearly basic physical fitness test. Therefore, the aim of this study was to validate performance in a 6-min rowing ergometer test (6MRT) against CRT performance. Thirty-one individuals (M/F 20/11, age 34 ± 12 years) employed at the Danish Armed Forces completed testing on two independent days; (I) the CRT on an outdoor track and (II) a 6MRT with pulmonary measurements of breath-by-breath oxygen uptake. In addition, 5 participants (M/F 4/1, age 40 ± 10 years) completed re-testing of the 6MRT. No difference was observed between VO2max estimated from the CRT and measured during the 6MRT. Absolute VO2max correlated strongly (r = 0.95; p less then 0.001) to performance in the 6MRT, and moderately (r = 0.80; p less then 0.001) to performance in the CRT. Bodyweight (BW) and fat free mass (FFM) correlated stronger to performance in the 6MRT compared to the CRT. 6MRT re-testing yielded similar performance results. The 6MRT is a valid and reliable alternative to the CRT, allowing injured or sailing personnel of the Danish Armed Forces to complete the basic physical fitness test as required, albeit 6MRT performance demands must be made relative to bodyweight.An important factor in consumers' acceptability, beyond visual appearance and taste, is food texture. Advantages and limitations of 3D Printing in the food industry, the material-based printability and model-based texture, and the future trends in 3D Printing, including numerical simulations, incorporation of cooking technology to the printing, and 4D modifications are discussed. Key challenges for the mainstream adoption of 3D Printing are also elaborated on.Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) could reduce emissions, increase road safety, and enhance ride comfort. Multiple CAVs can form a CAV platoon with a close inter-vehicle distance, which can further improve energy efficiency, save space, and reduce travel time. To date, there have been few detailed studies of self-driving algorithms for CAV platoons in urban areas. In this paper, we therefore propose a self-driving architecture combining the sensing, planning, and control for CAV platoons in an end-to-end fashion. Our multi-task model can switch between two tasks to drive either the leading or following vehicle in the platoon. The architecture is based on an end-to-end deep learning approach and predicts the control commands, i.e., steering and throttle/brake, with a single neural network. The inputs for this network are images from a front-facing camera, enhanced by information transmitted via vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication. The model is trained with data captured in a simulated urban environment with dynamic traffic. We compare our approach with different concepts used in the state-of-the-art end-to-end self-driving research, such as the implementation of recurrent neural networks or transfer learning. Experiments in the simulation were conducted to test the model in different urban environments. A CAV platoon consisting of two vehicles, each controlled by an instance of the network, completed on average 67% of the predefined point-to-point routes in the training environment and 40% in a never-seen-before environment.
