Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography showed serrated changes ranging from the upper level of the common bile duct to the right hepatic bile duct. Eosinophilia was not observed and tumor marker levels were within normal ranges. Following right lobectomy combined with bile duct reconstruction, a histological examination revealed cholangitis with inflammatory cell infiltration accompanied by parasite egg-like structures and Charcot-Leyden crystals. An additional serologic test was positive for F. hepatica antibodies. A diagnosis of fascioliasis was thus confirmed by histopathology and serology. We evaluated the effectiveness of Moms2B, a community-based group pregnancy and parenting program, in an effort to assess whether the program improvedpregnancy and infant outcomes.
We conducted a retrospective matched exposure cohort study comparing women exposed to the Moms2B program during pregnancy (two or more prenatal visits) who delivered a singleton live birth or stillbirth (≥ 20weeks gestation) from 2011-2017 to a closely matched group of women not exposed to the program. Primary outcomes were preterm birth and low birth weight. Propensity score methods were used to provide strong control for confounders.
The final analytic file comprised 675 exposed pregnancies and a propensity score-matched group of 1336 unexposed pregnancies. Most of the women were non-Hispanic Black. We found evidence of better outcomes among pregnancies exposed to Moms2B versus unexposed pregnancies, particularly for the primary outcome of low birth weight [9.45% versus 12.00%, respectively, risk difference (RD) = -2.55, 95% confidence interval (CI) = (-5.44, 0.34)]. Point estimates for all adverse pregnancy outcomes uniformly favored exposure to Moms2B.
Our findings suggest that participation in the Moms2B program improves pregnancy and infant outcomes. The program offers an innovative group model of pregnancy and parenting support for women, especially in non-Hispanic Black women with high-risk pregnancies.

To assess the intraocular pressure and visual acuity before and after pediatric congenital cataract surgery performed at a relatively older age.
A retrospective analysis of all consecutive pediatric patients diagnosed and operated for bilateral congenital cataracts during a seven-year period (2012-2018) in rural southern Ethiopia. Non-ambulatory vision was defined as hand motion or worse. The main outcome measures were intraocular pressure (IOP) and visual acuity.
Thirty-two children were included, 17 females (53.1%), with a mean age of 11years (± 2.83) [range, 7-18]. A total of 59 eyes were operated on. The mean follow-up was 4.8 ± 1.8years (range, 2-8). VA improved from 20/1400 preoperatively to 20/440 postoperatively OD and 20/540 OS (p < 0.001). More eyes had ambulatory vision after cataract surgery than pre-surgery (56 eyes [95%] vs. 29 eyes [49%], p < 0.001). The IOP decreased from a mean preoperative value of 18.4 ± 7.1mmHg to 14.5 ± 2.9 postoperatively OD (p < 0.001) and 16.3 ± 5.9mmHg to 13.9 ± 3.5 OS (p < 0.001). Fifteen eyes (24%) had increased IOP (> 21mmHg) preoperatively, of which three remained high after surgery. Positive correlations were found between IOP, axial length and cup-to-disc ratio. None of the patients required pressure-lowering procedures.

Accordingly, the present study establishes the psychometric properties and predictive utility of the Severity Measure for Social Anxiety Disorder (SMSAD).
