The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as a market that would grow for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words so that the next generation could be able to read the words. However, many words were replaced with foreign ones, like dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
The company was founded in 1917 and its early years mirrored Japan's economic development. In the first half, Toto manufactured products to meet the demands for modern, brand new urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the nation to continuously produce ceramics. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, allowing for more efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding internationally in the late 1980s to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company created the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other products from other manufacturers to enhance its own line of sanitary earthenwares as well as plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and increased the company's market share in the world.
In the 90s, Toto began to concentrate on research and development of water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better serve the needs of customers and to increase profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to supply chain management and used the same approach in its sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.
Toto continues to invent in the toilet technology. Its latest toilet has a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. 토지노 사이트 uses recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than conventional models.
The first museum of the company was opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their evolution, its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the history of plumbing and other products such as bath units and, in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum even has a bathroom that includes the WASHLET toilet, as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto the band, members of the band did sessions for a variety of musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia, you would expect the group to be prog kings and queens but they're actually a fairly simple rock band. The band started out as a quartet, and they recorded two albums - 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a diverse musical background, but their biggest success came in 1982 when they released Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but it was not without its problems. Record companies put the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that is a success or we'll drop you" and the pressure was on them to meet the deadline. Luckily for Toto they delivered, with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experience. Before joining the group, members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their sonic trademark has become the standard of '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into your mind. The album also includes some more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song blends folk and distorted AOR, which should seem like a complete blunder, but works very well.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through various drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.
Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the end of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new vocalist.

Steve Lukather has forged a colorful, deep friendship with Joe Williams that is flourishing professionally all over the world. In 2018, the duo celebrated their 40th anniversary of Tours Around The Sun with a hugely successful global tour. The album that bears the same name reached #5 on Billboard 200. The band's latest tour includes their greatest hits, rarely performed live deep-cuts and a selection of songs from Lukather's and Williams individual catalogs.

Line-up
The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums and was a stronger, more consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded performances.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded the band's Amsterdam live performance which was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The group released a brand new studio album a few months after and embarked on a tour around the world to support the album. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that hadn't been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then & Now. It was the band's first album that did not contain one single track titled "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track titled "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure, and vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe laryngitis condition that limited his singing abilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also featured a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
