The Advanced Guide To Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
The process of upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests Each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This is the sum of all the upgraded advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be costly, depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to get upgraded.
The level of an item is a popular measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It can also be used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to an lower level). The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.
Using the item level will allow players to compare the potency of gear when deciding to purchase or sell. It's a sign of the damage and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock is possible using the item level.
On your PC, you can check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are a few theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl calculated, which is often very close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this isn't the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the area the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.
Item Stats
The item's stats can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods which are then boosted by the player's level.
Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats on the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, whereas an item with the rare levels will be upgraded multiple times, at higher costs.
Affixes can also be used to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all shapes and sizes. The affixes could provide the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving dead or cutting down cooldowns), or make the item unique by giving an additional name to the item.
At present, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will include at least one stat in the range, unless they are a unique item, or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item level, and the interface for comparing items will not show all the stats that could be gained or lost at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player can increase the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in the early game, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chance of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
item upgrades , armor and weapons come with the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of the item up to 140.
Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be costly and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it does not work.
The success rate of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%..
The luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by five percent.
The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
