The results also found Acidobacteria, Proteobacteria, Firmicutes, and Chloroflexi were dominant phyla in soil samples. At the genus level, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, and Gp7 were dominant soil microorganism. Besides, Environmental factors, such as SOM (soil organic matter), pH, Bio-Cu, Bio-Cd (bioavailable cadmium), and Bio-Pb (bioavailable lead), greatly impacted microbial community in surface soil (1-3 m), while ORP, TK, and AN concentration influenced microbial community in the subsoil (4-10 m).A new kind of bifunctional microcapsule containing a n-octadecane (OD) and thyme oil (TO) core based on polyurea shell designed for thermal energy storage and antibiosis was prepared successfully through interfacial polymerization. The scanning electron microscopic investigations reveal that the obtained composite microcapsules present the regular spherical morphology and the transmission electron microscopic observations confirm the clear core-shell structure. Morphological and chemical structure analyses prove the successful synthesis of bifunctional microcapsules. Thermogravimetric analysis indicates that the polyurea shell can protect the composite cores effectively. Differential scanning calorimetry examination shows that the bifunctional microcapsules can maintain high thermal storage capacity and the encapsulation efficiency of OD increases with the increase in TO. The supercooling crystallization can be notably suppressed by adding 7 wt.% of n-octadecanol. A study on the release behavior of TO from the bifunctional microcapsules reveals that the Higuchi kinetic model could better fit the TO release profile. The antibacterial results demonstrate that the bifunctional microcapsules can effectively inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and the inhibition rate can reach as high as 99.9% when the mass concentration of microcapsules is over 3 wt.%.This study examines demographic, physical and psychosocial factors associated with an increase in low back pain (LBP) during a one-hour standing task. A cross-sectional survey with 40 office workers was conducted. The primary outcome was pain severity during a one-hour standing task recorded every 15 min using a 100 mm Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Participants were defined as pain developers (PD), if they reported a change in pain of ≥10 mm from baseline, or non-pain developers (NPD). Physical outcomes included participant-rated and examiner-rated trunk and hip motor control and endurance. Self-report history of LBP, physical activity, psychosocial job characteristics, general health and pain catastrophising were collected. Fourteen participants were PD. Hip abduction, abdominal and spinal muscle endurance was lower for PD (p ≤ 0.05). PD had greater self-reported difficulty performing active hip abduction and active straight leg raise tests (p ≤ 0.04). Those reporting a lifetime, 12 month or 7-day history of LBP (p less then 0.05) and lower self-reported physical function (p = 0.01) were more likely to develop LBP during the standing task. In conclusion, a history of LBP, reduced trunk and hip muscle endurance and deficits in lumbopelvic/hip motor control may be important to consider in office workers experiencing standing-induced LBP.Roxadustat (Rox), a hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) stabilizer, is now available for the treatment of anemia in hemodialysis (HD) patients. To investigate hematopoietic effect and iron metabolism, this study involved 30 HD patients who were initially treated with darbepoetin (DA), a conventional erythropoietin-stimulating agent, and then switched to Rox. We measured erythrocyte, reticulocyte indices, and iron-related factors at every HD during the first two weeks after the treatment switch (Days 0-14) and again on Days 21 and 28. We measured erythropoietin (EPO) concentration every week and examined their changes from Day-0 values. The same variables were measured in 15 HD patients who continued DA at every HD for one week. Iron-related factors were also measured on Days 14 and 28. In the Rox group, hepcidin significantly decreased from Day 2. The reticulocyte hemoglobin content (CHr) significantly increased on Day 4, but decreased with a significant increase in reticulocyte count from Day 7. Log10(serum ferritin) significantly decreased after Day 11. check details Log10(EPO concentration) was lower at all time points. Compared with the DA group, the Rox group showed significant differences in all variables except CHr. These results suggest that Rox improves hematopoiesis and iron metabolism early after administration independent of EPO concentration. The objective of this study was to investigate the behavior of zinc incorporation into newly forming fuel deposits and pre-formed deposits in a simulated pressurized water reactor coolant including 1000 ppm of boron and 2 ppm of lithium at 328 °C. Zinc was incorporated into fuel deposits that were being newly nucleated and grown on nuclear fuel cladding tubes in a zinc-containing coolant. The zinc incorporation resulted in a decrease in the lattice constant of the deposits, which was attributed to the decrease in larger iron content and the corresponding incorporation of smaller zinc in the deposits. However, zinc incorporation was not found, even after the fuel deposits pre-formed before zinc addition were subsequently exposed to the 60 ppb of zinc coolant for 500 h.Immune modulation is a very modern medical field for targeting viral infections. In the race to develop the best immune modulator against viruses, curcumin, as a natural product, is inexpensive, without side effects, and can stimulate very well certain areas of the human immune system. As a bright yellow component of turmeric spice, curcumin has been the subject of thousands of scientific and clinical studies in recent decades to prove its powerful antioxidant properties and anticancer effects. Curcumin has been shown to influence inter- and intracellular signaling pathways, with direct effects on gene expression of the antioxidant proteins and those that regulate the immunity. Experimental studies have shown that curcumin modulates several enzyme systems, reduces nitrosative stress, increases the antioxidant capacity, and decreases the lipid peroxidation, protecting against fatty liver pathogenesis and fibrotic changes. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) affects millions of people worldwide, having sometimes a dramatic evolution to chronic aggressive infection, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma.
