We conclude that OT and NTX act synergistically to decrease food consumption in rats and that this transient effect is accompanied by changes in brain processes relevant to feeding.The aim of this work is to co-load paclitaxel (PTX) and etoposide (ETP) in methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles (mPEG-PLGA NPs) to overcome pharmacokinetics and physiological limitations and enhance therapeutic efficacy for treating intracranial glioblastoma. Both drugs were loaded into mPEG-PLGA NPs by a nano-precipitation method. The resultant NPs demonstrated an enhanced cytotoxic effect indicated by lower IC50 values and augmented cell apoptosis to U87 and C6 glioma cell lines compared to both free drugs. Additionally, blood compatibility assays showed that the PTX/ETP co-loaded mPEG-PLGA NPs did not induce blood hemolysis, blood clotting, or platelet aggregation. In vivo anti-glioma efficacy evaluation in rats bearingintracranialC6glioma revealed a superior anti-glioma activity for the treatment with PTX/ETP co-loaded mPEG-PLGA NPs compared to other formulations, particularly a significantly longer median survival, 76 days compared to 36 days for free PTX and 37 days for free ETP treatment, respectively, and higher tumor regression, proved by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).The present study investigated the photodegradation of three different monoclonal antibodies (mAb) by visible light. Several chromatographic techniques, such as size-exclusion and hydrophobic interaction chromatography as well as mass spectrometry were used to measure relative changes of various oxidation related monoclonal antibody species. The results show that visible light is indeed capable of inducing the formation of protein photo-oxidation products, such as acidic, basic, hydrophilic, and several other protein species with altered physicochemical properties. Although, the formation rate of degradants of these three protein species was dependent on the light source's intensity (I), their yield is clearly correlated to the applied light dosage (ld), which is defined as the product of light intensity I and irradiation time t (light dosage = I·t). Hence, our findings indicate that the degradation of monoclonal antibodies can be described according to the Bunsen-Roscoe reciprocity law. This correlation can be useful to assess the impact of photodegradation of biologics with regards to changes in light intensity and/or duration of light exposure of the protein, e.g. during the manufacturing of biologics.The application of 3D printing technology to pharmaceuticals is expanding, and 3D-printed drug formulations comprising various materials and excipients have been developed using different types of 3D printers. Here, we used a digital light processing-type 3D printer to fabricate poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA)-based "ghost tablets" that release entrapped drug but do not disintegrate. Three drugs with different aqueous solubilities were incorporated separately into the tablets, and the effects of printer ink composition and printing conditions on tablet formation and drug release were investigated. We also constructed a simple and effective model to predict the drug release profiles of the 3D-printed PEGDA-based tablets based on printer ink compositions and printing conditions. Drug release profiles were constructed by combining data for the amount of drug released at a specified time (15 hr) predicted by a regression algorithm generated by machine learning (multiple linear regression) and the drug release kinetics model generated by a binary classification algorithm (support vector machine). DHF shows promising anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in ameliorating the neurodegenerative processes affecting the CNS. This review provides an overview of the significant neuroprotective potentials of DHF and discusses how it exerts its multitudinous beneficial effects by modulating different pathways linked with the pathophysiology of CNS disorders, and thus proposes it to be a nutraceutical against a broad spectrum of neurological disorders.
Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and hypertension (HTN) are the main modifiable risk factors of chronic kidney disease (CKD), among the known traditional and non-traditional risk factors.
We determined the prevalence and care-cascade of these modifiable CKD-risk factors and their association with socioeconomic status in adjoining Lucknow and Puducherry cities of India.
439 participants reported no CKD were recruited. Serum analysis revealed an Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR)≥90ml/min/1.73m

Although the CKD-risk population was about two times higher in Puducherry than Lucknow, the populations with mild-low eGFR were comparable in the two regions. Moreover, in Lucknow, mild-low eGFR and low awareness were more prevalent among the younger participants (<30years), relative to Puducherry.
Despite a higher prevalence of CKD-risk factors in Puducherry, populations with mild-low eGFR were comparable to Lucknow. More heightened awareness and better care cascade for CKD-risk factors in Puducherry may prevent or delay eGFR reduction.
