Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has some distinctive features. The aim of the study was to compare clinical and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of TNBC with non-triple-negative breast cancer (nTNBC) in molecular subtypes such as ADC (apparent diffusion coefficient) values, T2-weighted (T2W) image intensity, shape, margin, lymph node involvement, grade, multifocality, multicentricity, bilaterality, and enhancement pattern differences between tumour subtypes.
A total of 141 patients who underwent breast biopsy at our institution between January 2010 and June 2018 were included in this study. Patients were divided into molecular subtypes according to hormone receptor status, and Ki-67 index. Tumour grade, enhancement patterns, age, lymph node involvement, ADC values, breast imaging reporting and data system (BI-RADS) category, bilaterality, multifocality, multicentricity, margin, shape, and T2W image intensity were evaluated for these subtypes.
ADC values were higher in triple-negative tumours than in luminal A and luminal B tumours (
= 0.010 and
= 0.002, respectively). Circumscribed margin, type 2 enhancement curve, and rim enhancement were significantly higher in triple-negative tumours (
< 0.001). No significant difference was found between the groups in terms of other MRI findings including bilaterality, multifocality, multicentricity, shape, and T2W image intensity (

This study has focused on investigating the relationship between the exponential apparent diffusion coefficient (exp-ADC), selective apparent diffusion coefficient (sel-ADC) values, the ADC ratio (ADCr), and prostate cancer aggressiveness with transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy in patients with prostate cancer.
All patients underwent a multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) including tri-planar T2-weighted (T2W), dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE), diffusion-weighted sequences using a 3.0-Tesla MR scanner (Skyra, Siemens Medical Systems, Germany) with a dedicated 18-channel body coil and a spine coil underneath the pelvis, with the patient in the supine position. Exp-ADC, sel-ADC, and ADCr of defined lesions were evaluated using region-of-interest-based measurements. Exp-ADC, sel-ADC, and ADCr were correlated with the Gleason score obtained through transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy.
Patients were divided into 2 groups. Group I is Gleason score ≥ 3 + 4, group II is Gleason score = arcinoma. Adding exp-ADC and sel-ADC values to ADCr can be used to increase the diagnostic accuracy of DWI.
A variety of surgical procedures have been introduced to treat patients with thoracic myelopathy (TM) caused by ossification of the ligamentum flavum (OLF). However, they are accompanied by significant trauma and risk, and their surgical outcomes are not always satisfactory.
To describe a bilateral translaminar osseous-channel assisted posterior percutaneous full-endoscopic ligamentectomy decompression (p-PELD) technique as a novel minimally invasive procedure for treating patients with TM due to OLF.
A 51-year-old female patient with persistent thoracolumbar back pain and progressive numbness in the bilateral lower extremities for 2 years underwent percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for T11 osteoporotic compression fractures (OCF) in a regional hospital one week prior to hospitalization. TM caused by canal stenosis and dorsal spinal cord compression at T10/11 secondary to OLF and an OCF at T11 were diagnosed based on clinical presentations and radiologic examinations. After bilateral p-PELD for TM was performed at T10/11, the result was confirmed based on postoperative radiographic and clinical results.
The bilateral OLF was completely removed by the p-PELD technique. No complications were encountered, and her symptoms were sufficiently improved after surgery. The VAS score was 6 points preoperatively and decreased to 0 points at the last follow-up (24 months). The modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association (mJOA) score improved from 2 points preoperatively to 10 points at the final follow-up.

Balloon sinus dilation is becoming an increasingly common procedure, finding a niche as an invaluable tool in endoscopic sinus surgery.
To assess the effectiveness of balloon sinus dilation (BSD) in 1-day surgery in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis without polyps based on our own experience.
The study group consisted of 9 patients. The Lund-Mackay scale for computed tomography of the paranasal sinuses was assessed prior to surgery. Endoscopy was performed on the basis of the Lund-Kennedy scale and patients were asked to perform the SNOT-22 survey. Two patients underwent balloon sinuplasty under general and seven under local anaesthesia.
Twelve maxillary and eight frontal sinuses were widened (four attempts were unsuccessful). The SNOT-22 survey was assessed the day after surgery (average of 8 points) and a month after surgery (average of 15.5 points).
BSD only allows widening of the ostia of the maxillary, frontal and sphenoid sinuses. BSD offers shorter post-surgical recovery, and a more rapid return to work because of its less invasive and less traumatic nature.
