The average Patient-Oriented Eczema Measure score was 1.27±1.7 and 1.32±1.8 for the water and soap sides, respectively (p=0.92). The total number of additional steroid ointment applications was 4 (0-20) times and 6 (0-23) times, respectively (p=0.98). Participants were categorized according to self-assessments of the usefulness of soap, with 2, 24, and 3 participants in the water-effective, invariant, and soap-effective groups, respectively. CONCLUSIONS For children with controlled atopic dermatitis, washing with water alone was not inferior to washing with soap for maintaining remission of eczema during the fall-winter period in Japan. It has been shown that increases in pain are longitudinally associated with depressive symptoms. This strong link can be attenuated by coping strategies like resilience. However, to date, there is a lack of longitudinal studies, based on nationally representative samples that have examined whether flexible goal adjustment moderates the relation between pain and depressive symptoms. Thus, the purpose of this study was to identify whether there is a longitudinal association between pain and depressive symptoms, and to examine whether flexible goal adjustment moderates this link. METHODS Longitudinal data (wave 3 and wave 4; 5582 observations) were taken from a sample (German Ageing Survey) which is nationally representative for middle-aged and older adults (40 years and over). A widely used pain measurement (single-item measure) served as the key independent variable. An instrument created by Brandstaedter and Renner was used to quantify flexible goal adjustment. The 15-item version of the Centre for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale was used to measure depressive symptoms. RESULTS Linear fixed effects regressions demonstrated that an increase in pain was associated with an increase in depressive symptoms (β = 0.42, P less then  0.001). Moreover, flexible goal adjustment significantly moderated this association (β = -0.39, P less then  0.01). With regard to potential confounders, an increase in depressive symptoms was associated with increasing age and worsening self-rated health. CONCLUSION The study findings showed that increasing pain leads to more depressive symptoms using a longitudinal approach. In addition, flexible goal adjustment moderated this link. Therefore, programs aiming at improving flexible goal adjustment may assist in avoiding an increase in depressive symptoms alongside pain increases among older adults. © 2020 Japanese Psychogeriatric Society.Acute liver failure (ALF) is a severe consequence of abrupt hepatocyte injury and has lethal outcomes. Three Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists, including polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid [poly(IC)], lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and cytosine-phosphate-guanine (CpG) DNA, cause acute and severe hepatitis, respectively, in D-galactosamine (D-GalN)-sensitized mice. However, the molecular differences among three ALF models [LPS/D-GalN, poly(IC)/D-GalN, and CpG DNA/D-GalN], are unclear. Here, we performed Tandem mass tag (TMT)-based quantitative proteomic analyses of three ALF mouse models. We identified 52 common differentially expressed proteins (DEPs), in three ALF groups, compared to the control. Gene ontology (GO) analyses showed that among the common DEPs, 10 proteins are involved in immune system process, and 39 proteins in metabolic process. Among 80,195 and 23 specifically expressed proteins in poly(IC)/D-GalN, LPS/D-GalN and CpG DNA/D-GalN groups, LPS/D-GalN-specific proteins were mostly distributed in the endoplasmic reticulum and more enriched in metabolic pathways, whereas poly (IC)/D-GalN-specific proteins were mainly in the membrane and CpG DNA/D-GalN-specific proteins were related to the ribosome structural composition. In conclusion, we identified common and specific DEPs in three ALF mouse models at molecular level; and determined a close-to-complete reference map of mouse liver proteins which will be useful for clinical diagnosis and treatment of liver failure in humans. This study explores inequity in public health financing reforms in Turkey between 2003 and 2015. METHODS This paper has two parts. The first part examines inequity in health care financing in Turkey between 2003 and 2015. Gini, entropy (Theil and mean logarithmic deviation), and Atkinson indexes were calculated. In the second part of the paper, we investigated the degree of progressivity by using Kakwani index and Lorenz and concentration curves. RESULTS We found a decreasing trend in terms of inequity. After major public health reforms and unification of the health financing system, it is seen that the distribution of out-of-pocket expenditure on health stands on the shoulders of vulnerable groups. CONCLUSIONS Study results provide a deep understanding of the effects of poverty on public health financing reforms on households in Turkey. To reduce out-of-pocket health spending inequities and to protect vulnerable groups from increasing the level of health expenditures, we suggest that the government enlarges health insurance coverage for the poor. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) - now known as Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)1 - as a global health emergency. Singapore currently stands as the country with the highest number of reported cases of COVID-19 outside of China2 , excluding patients on a cruise ship offshore of Japan. Herein, we report the remarkable repigmentation of widespread facial vitiligo lesions in an adolescent girl with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease. The patient was treated with a combination of fractional erbiumYAG laser, topical tacrolimus, and phototherapy. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
